Julie Stark-Collins, Art Director
Julie Stark-Collins is a graphic artist and designer living in Salt Lake City, Utah at the mouth of the beautiful Wasatch mountains. She works mostly in the video media, doing animation for broadcast and film. She also works in the print media.Before moving to Salt Lake City in 1994, she spent 10 years in New York City. She worked for the artist Keith Haring in a factory in Brooklyn producing his sculptures for gallery shows in the early 1980s. She also worked for the Artist/Photographer Cindy Sherman printing her black and white film stills. She spent time as a fine printer in Black and White photo labs before moving into the video post-production world in 1985. She has directed, written and produced several independent art-videos including "The Indecision" (1986), which aired on "Night Flight’s" Independent video series. She worked at New York City’s "National Video Center Recording Studios" as an animator and designer on some of the industries earliest computer graphic systems. Clients there included USA Network, HBO, CINEMAX, MTV, WCBS and MTV, Gray advertising, Ogilvy and Mather, BBDandO.
She was later hired as the Creative Director for USA Networks first post production facility on Madison Avenue in New York City. At USA Network she was responsible for the on-air look of two networks: The Sci-Fi Channel and USA Network. She designed and edited graphic animation packages, movie and show titles, show opens and sports graphic packages. She also designed two digital graphics departments. She is currently working for Discreet Logic, a high-end graphics software company in Montreal, Quebec which specializes in film effects for Hollywood, acting as a demonstration artist and trainer on Flame, Flint, and Inferno software. She also designs and builds animation for independent clients out of her studio in Salt Lake City, where she has installed the only Flame in Utah.

Responsible for demonstrating software for film effects and compositing, keying, color correcting, graphics generation, warping, morphing, motion tracking, stabilization, 2-D and 3-D animation and editing. Clients include FOX LA, Digital Domain, 525, POP etc.
Responsible for the on air look of two networks, The Sci-Fi Channel and USA Network. Designed and edited graphic animation packages, movie and show titles, shoe opens and sports graphic packages, movie and show titles, show opens and sports packages for both networks on the DFX Composium. Designed two digital graphic departments.
Client list included HBO, CINEMAX, MTV, Joe Slade White Comm., Mara Villa, CBS, and NBC. Designed logos, animated charts, graphs and bumpers. Wrote produced and directed several independent music videos.
