US Patent Office Allows Exerscape Patent

(LAGUNA NIGUEL, CA June 21, 1999) – IXR Corp. has received a "Notice of Allowance" for its patent application "Dynamic Real Time Exercise Video Apparatus and Method" from the US Patent Office. This patent will cover the variable rate physio-interactive video technology and the use of recorded video in interactive fitness applications. IXR continues to pursue patents in Canada, Australia, Great Britain, France, Germany, Italy and Spain.

Exerscape is a WebDVD-based system designed to mentally transport users to desirable places while exercising indoors. The first title, RIDE.moab, features footage filmed by Emmy-winning cinematographer Tom Grissom in Canyonlands National Park, Utah. A top bicycle accessory manufacturer is expected to release a speed and heart rate capable version this fall at a $399 price point.

IXR continues its work to bring Exerscape toboth fitness clubs and into the home by offering fitness equipment companies a fully developed digital media system designed to work with existing product lines. The WebDVD platform enables users to work with online coaches, buy active lifestyle equipment and accessories, and even earn ExerCredits to reduce the cost of health and life insurance.

IXR is currently demonstrating Exerscape RIDE.moab at the Digital Living Room Conference being held June 20-22 at the Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel.
