IXR Successfully Recruits Fortune 100 Executive

(SANDY, UT Sept. 21, 1998) – Local interactive fitness software developer IXR, Inc. has successfully recruited Robert W. Parson to fill the positions of President and Chief Operating Officer ("COO"). Company founder Bruce Ewert will retain the positions of Chairman and Chief Executive Officer ("CEO").

Mr. Parson brings extensive executive sales and marketing experience to IXR at a time when its first products are approaching market viability. Prior to joining IXR, Mr. Parson was with Matsushita Electrical Corp. of America ("MECA") for eleven years, where he ascended to Vice President for Planning and Corporate Relations. Before this post, Mr. Parson held the position of President of Panasonic Home and Commercial Products Co. ("PHCP"), one of MECA's five sales and marketing divisions. MECA is the $8 billion North American subsidiary of Matsushita, the $80 billion Japanese giant that manufactures and sells goods under the Panasonic, National, Quasar and many other private label brand names.

Mr. Ewert and Mr. Parson first came in contact when IXR was demonstrating the first generation of its interactive fitness technology, based on the 3DO player sold by a subsidiary of PHCP and others, in 1996. Mr. Parson has advised IXR on business matters on several occasions since then, which eventually led to the negotiations with which he joined IXR. As Mr. Parson states, "It is nice to come upon such a positive and beautiful end product experience from the employment of digital technology."

IXR founder Bruce Ewert states, "As our R&D phase nears completion and the marketplace for our Exerscape PC-TV technology becomes viable, we have been looking for a seasoned, well connected sales executive to assist us in our plans to work with large existing PC and fitness equipment companies. Bob was the perfect candidate, with his experience at everything from OEM sales to Olympic sponsorships, and we feel extremely lucky that he accepted our offer to come work with us!"

A Utah-based independent software developer, IXR plans to make physio-interactive™ exercise systems available for the Windows 98/DVD platform. Physio-interactive and Exerscape are trademarks of IXR. DVD Live and physio-interactive are trademarks of IXR, Inc. Windows 98 is a registered trademark of Microsoft.
