(Salt Lake City, UT--June 30, 2002)-
Dr. Rainer Borkenhagen, Prinicipal Investigator, Interactive Rehab, Cardiac Rehab, Vancouver General Hospital,
has begun an initial study of Exerscape technology in a Cardiac Rehab setting. Riding an upright or a recumbent
exercise bike donated by Cateye Fitness, the rehab patients can choose from one of 18 different video rides
included on the initial Exerscape DVD. The Exerlink PC interface contains a standard Polar OEM heart rate
receiver, enabling the use of the standard Polar Chest belts already owned by the Cardiac Rehab facility.

Initial anecdotes indicate the generally older cardiac rehab population seems to like the high-quality
Exerscape physio-interactive video as much as the younger active population. Exerscapes' ability to individually track
workout times and distances is enabling Dr. Borkenhagen and his staff to monitor patients even better.
The study is scheduled to run into the latter part of 2002.

IXR's breakthrough video technology provides an unmatched level of realism
by seamlessly varying the video rate of high-quality MPEG2 video. As Jim
Taylor, noted author of "DVD Demystified", stated, "Exerscape is an unparalleled
advancement of stunning simplicity." Originally conceived and invented by IXR
founder Bruce Ewert, Exerscape™ enables high-quality digital video speed to
be manipulated at will. Mr. Ewert, with his Speilbergian visage and varied
sporting and technologic background, notes "this is just another step towards
where we want to take users as we continue to push the frontiers of realistic
POV capture and user-driven displays, with optional real-time Internet connectivity!"
The Blackburn Motivator Interactive Real Video Training System is the first product based
on the Exerscape™ variable rate digital video technology invented by IXR Corp.
Exerscape smoothly varies the video speed under the control of the wheel speed.
As you pedal faster, you go faster through the helmet cam video filmed on location. Self-selected
music, played from the Internet or a CD, enhances the Exerscape experience. Workout data is
saved for review. The Exerscape.com Web
database will enable users to share their workout information with coaches, rehabilitation
specialists, and others.
The Motivator is now for sale at Blackburn dealers for a suggested retail price
of $399. It requires a 400 Mhz PC with Windows 98 or newer and a DVD ROM drive. An included hardware link connects
the bicycle to
the PC, transmitting speed and (optionally) heart rate to the Exerscape video program. The included first disc
contains 18 rides in Moab, Utah, Monterey, California, and Paris-Roubaix, France, for a total of over three hours
of healthy entertainment.
